Is RateWire safe? Will WhatsApp ban me?
RateWire only reads the chats you pick. It never sends, forwards, deletes or marks anything as read, so it does none of the things that get WhatsApp accounts restricted.
What RateWire does
- Reads new messages in chats and channels you tick
- Turns prices into your private rate board
- Runs on one computer, locked with a secret key
What RateWire never does
- Send, forward or reply to any message
- Message your contacts or groups in bulk
- Add people to groups or scrape phone numbers
- Mark chats as read or change anything in WhatsApp
Why other add-ons got banned
In October 2025 security researchers exposed over 100 WhatsApp Web Chrome add-ons that sent bulk spam, and users of them risked restrictions. WhatsApp's anti-spam rules target sending and automation of messages. RateWire has no sending code at all: it only reads what is already on your screen in WhatsApp Web.
Honest limits
- RateWire is independent and not made or approved by WhatsApp or Meta.
- No tool can promise WhatsApp will never act on an account. We avoid everything their rules prohibit.
- RateWire is not audited by an external certification body. Our safeguards are listed on the Security page.
